Unfinished Inktober 2017 / Sketchbook Tour

Hello my caffeinated friends,

Happy Wednesday! I hope you enjoy watching sketchbook tours as much as I do. Every artist has their own approach to drawing and I find that even the roughest of sketches inspiring. Today I’d like to share with you my unfinished Inktober 2017 sketchbook.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Inktober, it’s a challenge created by Jake Parker to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. He provides a word prompt for every day in October and you participate by drawing what that word means to you. It can be stressful if you don’t manage your time (which is why I didn’t finish) but it’s also a lot of fun. Especially because you get to share your interpretation of the prompt with artist from around the world!

The materials I mainly used are:

  • Handmade sketchbook with bristol and watercolor paper

  • 0.5mm HB pencil — sketching

  • Micron 01 and 05 — line work

  • Eraser

And sprinkles of:

  • gold paint

  • gouache

  • black ink

I hope you enjoyed watching this short sketchbook tour! Though Inktober has come and gone, I hope these drawings inspire you to pick up a pencil and start drawing. :)

Smile more often and I’ll see ya soon,
— Kai
